‘Sam’ was built by Peter Locke in the mid 1930s. She is an easy boat to sail with great performance, can be raced with 2 or 4 people and she has good sails and rigging.
The history of this boat is largely unknown, Peter Locke built many 19' couta boats for local fishing. Her recent known history is that she was for many years at the Lime Burners Bay Boat Club fitted with a cabin and used as their work boat or for conducting racing. The boat came to St Kilda and was used for a while as a fishing boat, eventually she was purchased by David and Dugga Beasley and restored in their Dow Street boat yard.
The boat is well maintained by her current owner, has laid decks, overall she is an appealing classic, easy to run and manage. Alternatively, the current owner would be interested in selling a share in the boat.
