Tasmanian fishermen use rods or "jig-sticks" to lure and then land the barracouta "Storm Bay" - Fishing with rods

Chute used to slide barracouta into the well
The rod is jerked back on to a temporarily erected chute, the line slackens and the barracouta frees itself and slides down the chute into the well.

As the "Storm Bay" makes for port, the fishermen chop the heads and draw the entrails out without opening the fish, ready to store Chopping heads of barracouta
