Our OPEN DAY at WBS was a resounding success. Over 200 took advantage of the mild weather to look over the upgraded facilities and yards or to take a look at the new boats being built in the sheds. There was quite a feast of traditional boat-building to admire with a number of NEPEANS and Couta Boats under construction together with a 24' Lonsdale. Much interest was aroused in WBS's latest design the CHEVIOT 32, a semi planing boat(more info).
We were privileged to have amongst our guests Lou Ferrier, the last of the Couta Men, he still catches the Couta, as it has been for many a year.
We would like to thank all who came along and hoped they enjoyed the day
Whilst enjoying the day visitors were treated to some tasty treats off the BBQ. The fresh Rock Flathead fillets brought across by Dugga Beazley as well as the Abalone were enjoyed. Local wines, such as the Schinus Merlot & Sauvignon from Dromana Estates, Pinot & Chardonnay from Cape Schank added to the day. |
