12. The rabbet is now complete, the stem and stern post have also been shaped.
The painting of the backbone is continued to prevent the hardwood drying to fast.
21. The laminations are clamped onto the boat and nailed off in place
13. A notch is cut in the keel for every rib to neatly fit into
22. The ribs are laminated in two layers and painted between.
14. The keel has been sprung down over the building stocks.
The transom is set up and fitted to finalize the length and profile of the boat.
23. The ribs are painted to prevent them drying out and splitting during nailing.
15. The Iron Bark stern knee and Iroko transom have been fitted.
The knee is bolted through the horn timber, the transom is then screwed to the knee with silicon bronze screws.

The rudder tube must also be bored at this stage, through the knee and horn timber.
24. The forward rabbet is cut out and prepared for the garboard planks
16. The backbone is carefully leveled and braced up.
The moulds are made from the drawing on the lofting floor, these are fitted to each station mark and also braced up.
25. The stern rabbet is cut for the garboard
17. The ribbands are fitted to the moulds. These are made from 1 1/4” X 1 1/4 hard wood.
26. The rabbet and ribbing is complete ready for the garboard plank to be fitted.
18. At this stage the rabbet angle is checked and preperations for ribbing are made.
27. The garboard plank has been fitted. This is fastened on with 50mm silicon bronze nails and Sikaflex sealant.
19. The Celery Top Pine ribs are immersed in boiling water
20. The laminations are bent over a form to ensure they are over bent and in a relaxed state when fitted to the boat
